3com Voip configured on 5400xl
I have one vlan (60) on my hp 5400zl switch. I am trying ot configure a 3com voip phone to work on the switch. Can someone help me with a basic configuration to allow the VOIP phone and Data to work on the same vlan?

Re: 3com Voip configured on 5400xl
hi Ikiam
voice packets very small size on network but voice packets many breakable on network
because voice application use udp protocols(no unknowledgement-no flow control-no retransmit drop packet)
my advice you can create new vlan on network and carry on new vlan (sperate data traffic)voice traffic
you can must be QoS for voice traffic on your netwrok
for example
create new vlan 50 on switch
all ip phone and comminication server port on switch must be vlan 60 untag vlan 50 tag
port you can assing vlan 50 QoS priority 6
and connect comminication server and all ip phone vlan 60 untag vlan 50 tag ports
setting on voip phone and comminication server nic QoS priority6
cenk
