4000M - by reboot no connection to Novell

we have a problem with our HP Switch 4000M. After a time many 32bit-clients become after a reboot the error "server or tree not found". All other login 32bit-clients (W2000 a.o.) works fine. We have an Novell 3.12 Server for Login. The win95 clients have no problem. After a reboot from switch the error ist often (not always - than second reboot) gone. The firmware is very old (C.07.25) but our Systemhouse said, we dont can update, because we have an J4118A 4-Port 10Mbit Module inside, which dont work with a newer firmware. What can we do.
