4108gl VLAN Routing

Hi all,

on my 4108gl I configured multiple VLANs and activated ip routing. Each VLAN has a manual IP config, the default gateway IP (as shown via webUI) is set to an IP of the default VLAN subnet.

Now routing between the VLANS seems ok, but I can not reach Machines beyond this switch, e.g. the DMZ or internet.

Do I need a default route (ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 GW-IP)? I thought the gateway for ALL configured VLANs is the default GW in the webUI?

thx in advance

Re: 4108gl VLAN Routing

Hi HGIT,

Yes, if you enabled ip routing you need "ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 ..." command to set default route.

Also does the default GW have routes back to 4108gl netwoks?

Re: 4108gl VLAN Routing

Hi Oleg,

default gw IP is the IP of external GW (=firewall /gateway) = 192.168.1.254

IP of switch in default VLAN = 192.168.1.253
VLAN2=192.168.2.0/24

on 192.168.1.254 I configured a route to VLAN2, so I can ping from VLAN2 to defaultVLAN.
But I cant ping from VLAN2 to external or 192.168.100.10, doing the same from default VLAN there is no problem.

Re: 4108gl VLAN Routing

HGIT,

Can you please show routing table of default gateway?

If it is a firewall does it have some blocking rules or ACL?

Re: 4108gl VLAN Routing

Hi,

I added a route:

192.168.2.0/24 to Gateway 192.168.2.254.

def. GW IP = 192.168.1.254

SwitchIP of VLAN2 = 192.168.2.254
