recently bought a new 4104Gl switch, it was shipped with software version g.07.71, this is newer then g.07.70 which is the latest SW available on these pages: http://www.hp.com/rnd/software/switches.htm

is it OK to use, and why is g.07.71 not released yet when it is shipped with new switches?

HP is slow to put up the latest code to that site. Why would you not want to run with that code? If you want that code for your other switches or even just the release notes, just call NetHelp and they will send it to you.

i followed the 7.70 link and ended up here:

Replace "Download3" with "Download4" in the URL and you get a page containing a dead link to 7.73.

Hi Robdal,

As Les states whatever HP ships on the units is ok, and they are slow updating web stuff.

NetHelp is US only I think. The direct access number to ProCurve-support from Norway is 22 57 77 70.
