6600 or 2910al for top of rack
I am looking for a top of rack switch for our data center. Currently we are not doing any layer 4 and all routing is done via a Procurve 5304. We are getting ready to do a SAN and virtualization installation and trying to slip this into the budget. Is there any advantage for the 6600?
Regards,
Chris

Re: 6600 or 2910al for top of rack
The 6600 switches have front to back airflow (reversible) rather than the side to side airflow in most switches.
That makes them more suitable for a top of rack switch in most data centres.
Also redundant power.
