802.1Q question:

If a port on a 2626 or 2824 switch belongs to tagged VLAN_100, tagged VLAN_200 and tagged VLAN_300 and no untagged VLAN and a non 802.1Q device is connected to this port how will the switch behave?

Will all traffic from VLAN_100, VLAN_200 and VLAN_300 be forwarded to the device or will no traffic be forwarded? Will traffic from the device be dropped since the port doesn't belong to a untagged VLAN?

Re: 802.1Q question:

Broadcast/multicast traffic and traffic with an unknown destination will be forwarded out that port with an 802.1Q tag (depending on which VLAN the traffic originated from).

Incoming untagged traffic will be dropped for the reason that you have listed.

Re: 802.1Q question:

Hi

Additional to Matt's answer, this Broadcast - Multicast and unknown destined traffic will be forwarded, but the device won't Accept it because it is sent with 802.1q tags, and the device is not 802.1q aware.

Good Luck !!!
