802.1x authentication by EDGE switches through (prioxy?) CORE switch

Hi Everyone

802.1x related question. We have 802.1x port-access authentication working successfully on a test XP client connected to our 5412zl (14.41) core switch (IP 1.1.1.1).

However, I need to configure our 30 edge switches (example IP 1.1.1.2) to terminate 802.1x port-access requests.

Here is the problem. The radius server (2.2.2.2) supporting our 802.1x system is configured to only service requests from the core switch IP (1.1.1.1). This cannot be changed!

Is there any way to get the edge switches to forward to their 802.1x requests via the core switch? We are 30 edge switches so IP stacking or other IP consolidation won't work IMHO.

Thanks for reading,

no it is not possible

802.1x configuration must have edge switch for better security.

add radius client your edge switch on radius server and authentication must have on edge switch port

Re: 802.1x authentication by EDGE switches through (prioxy?) CORE switch

each port support 32 users authenticated on 5400 switch with piggybacking methot

I do not recommend piggybacking methot

each user authenticated must have on one switch port
