A-series IRF and Procurve ISC (distributed trunking)
Hello everyone,
Has anybody succeded to connect IRF switch with f.ex. a pair of Procurve 6600 configured for ISC (distributed trunking)?
We've configured everything according to manuals (IRF on pair of S12508, switch-interconnect and peer-keepalive VLAN and trunk to S12508 on pair of Procurve 6600) but the installation is unstable. Procurve switches CPU is very busy, ISC link is going UP/DOWN and the Spanning-tree root is changing between 6600 devices.
It seems the boxes can not work togather but it is difficult to accept for me.
S12508 are running version 5.20 and Procurve 6600 are running version 15.05.0006.
Any help appreciated.

Re: A-series IRF and Procurve ISC (distributed trunking)
Im pretty sure the ProCurve pdf about distributed trunking states thats its only supported to run DT against servers and not other pair of switches, since its not a real distributed port channel.

Hi Fredric,
In the latest release it is supposed to work also with switches.
Best regards

Re: A-series IRF and Procurve ISC (distributed trunking)
Hi Bartolomiej,
Have you configured link-aggregation group on IRF stack as dynamic (LACP)?
If you please, some command output would be nice to figure out possible cause.
Commands to run on 6600:
show trunk
show lldp in re
show span
sh log -r
Commands to run on IRF
display link-aggregation verbose
display stp
