Analyze Data volume on a HP 6600

Hi,

I have a HP 6600 Switch. I want to analyse the data volume for a specific port monthly. Can anyone tell me the OID, that can i use to analyze the data volume?

Thx for help,

Re: Analyze Data volume on a HP 6600

Hi,

ifinoctets is 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10 and ifoutoctets is 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16

If you need 64-bit counters it's ifhcinoctets/ifhcoutoctets.

Re: Analyze Data volume on a HP 6600

Hi,

when I ask the OID for ifInOctets/ifOutOctets the counter resets after 4 GByte/s Bytes ressieve/transmit over the interface.

So the datavolume of the port looks like the picture in the attachment of this thread.

But this can't be the real result for the data volume of the port, or not?

Re: Analyze Data volume on a HP 6600

Hi,

You need to be using a more intelligent tool that interprets the data as a counter. I use cacti to monitor bandwidth on interfaces but I'm sure it's quite easy to set it up to monitor traffic volumes as well.
