Connection test fails or does never end.
Is this caused by the Switch Firmware (14.41 on 5412zl) or is it a Problem of PCM?

MOTD would be consumed and not visible while logging via PCM usually..
Do you have any special characters in the banner text?. Can you try supplying a simpler text ( say just one word) and try logon via PCM?
Also what is the mode of communication - SSH or telnet?

I did some tests.
It look like "!" in modt character causes the Problem

SolutionIn case you would really like to use, say "|" in the text, make sure it is enclosed in quotes in the banner text. That should avoid this problem
ps : thought will remind of this important etiquette followed in the forum - assign points on scale (1-10) to people trying to help by answering your queries; its an appreciation for the time they spend in responding to your questions.

In this Case it was not the Pipe Sign | ist was !.
OK - In Future I only use alphanumeric Characters ;)
