CDP on blocked links...

 

CDP on blocked links...

I dont know what the "rules" of CDP is, but on Cisco CDP-packets are transmitted on lines that is blocked by STP, on HP CDP is not sent.

I like Cisco:s implementation here because CDP is nice to have available even if a link is blocked.

Which implementation is most correct, if any?

CDP tends to reveal extremely valuable information about networking equipment - very interesting for would-be attackers: they can discover network topology, network addressing scheme and software versions of routers and switches by just pugging a CDP-capable device into the network and listening for CDP packets. I do not use CDP in my network.
