CLI on 4000M & 8000M
How do I enable the command line interface on the old 4000M & 8000M switches? The manuals say that the CLI is part of the management feature, but we have no idea how to enable it or make the CLI the default login interface. Firmware rev C.09.22
ROM rev C.06.01
I hope someone can assist
Regards

Re: CLI on 4000M & 8000M
The CLI is there per default. If you make a telnet connection to the switch and it says HP Procurve 4000M>
then you are in the CLI. If you are in the menustructure then you can go to the option CLI in the main menu.

Re: CLI on 4000M & 8000M
When I telnet to the 4000M, I go straight to the menu interface and there is no option to change to the CLI.
Please advise

Re: CLI on 4000M & 8000M
Sorry I was to fast.
In the main menu choose option 5 and then option 4. Then you are in the Command Prompt.
I've checked but I could not find any setting to get the CLI as default when you log in to the switch.

Re: CLI on 4000M & 8000M
But I was hoping for the IOS that later switches have, like the 4108GL. The CLI on the 4000M isn't the same.
Thanks for your help
