Can't see the modem
I have a Compaq Deskpro 2000. It originally ran on the basic Win95 system with its own functional internal modem.
Recently, the hard drive collected so much bad data that drive had to be replaced. I now have Win 98 system installed, but it can't seem to see the modem. I've checked the PCI slots, phone connections, Com port settings, changed drivers. Still nothing.
Any more ideas?
Thanx
Andr??

Re: Can't see the modem
Internal modems usually need the manufacturer's special drivers. Yours is available at:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/Deskpro/us/download/6718.html
See if that helps.
Other drivers and software for your box are at:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/Deskpro/us/family/7.html?submit.y=5&submit.x=9&cc=us
but you need to select your exact model.
