Can't unistall PCM 2.0

Upgraded from 1.6 to 2.0 I had to abort the install, but it installed. I need to unistall it and start over fresh.

The unistall does nothing it just hangs.

I was going to say "restore from backup and try again" but then figured if you had a backup you probably would have done that.

What happens of you run the install again and let it go all the way through?

Is there much of the old database worth saving? My 1.6 to 2.0 in-place upgrade did not go so well so I just ended up uninstalling, scrubbing the folders and registry, and reconstituted the machine as virgin.

I tried to reinstall but it says that I already have PCM 2.0 loaded.

I think I might try what you did, any additional details on manually deleting PCM?

In answer to the other question Les, there isn't much data worth saving only had 1.6 running for a week.

There is a service install wizard in the MS reskit that you can use to remove the services which would be better that hacking them out of the registry.

After that, the files under C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\PNM should be deleted.

Then delete the appropriate registry keys under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HP

Empty the temp folders, defrag, and reboot.
