Can we add same uplink ports in two vlans?
One of our Customer has a C7000 enclosure with two GbE2c LY 2/3 Ethernet switches in interconnect bay 1&2 and a half height blade server installed in server bay 1.
This server hosts two Hyper-V virtual Machines. According to the customer requirement Traffic of both VMs need to be differentiated on Enclosure Switch by adding (UPLINK port) in two different VLAN’s i.e. 255 & 256.
In Simple they want to add same uplink port and server internal switch port in 2 different VLAN’s, at the moment uplink & server internal port can be a member of only 1 VLAN. But we would like to do the following configuration.
VLAN 255
Port 19(Uplink)
Port 1( Bay 1 Server)
VLAN 256
Port 19(Uplink)
Port 1( Bay 1 Server)
If we try to add port 19 and 1 into VLAN 256, it is automatically removed from VLAN255. Please confirm can this be achieved? Kindly find the attached network diagram for more details.
