Change VLAN via SNMP

Hi.

Is it possible to change a ports VLAN membership(s) through SNMP?

I want to create a network login solution which uses a webpage as authentification-form.
If you know any similar technical approach, or project which has the same goals, please share them with me.

We are using HP Procurve 2626 and 2848.

Re: Change VLAN via SNMP

If your only goal is to authenticate users with a webpage and putting them in their correspondent VLAN, why not use the internal web authentication?

From the "Access Security Guide for the HP ProCurve Switch 2600 Series, Switch 2800 Series, Switch 4100gl Series, and Switch 6108 (October 2004)" the following quote:

Web Authentication (Web-Auth). This method uses a web page login to
authenticate users for access to the network. When a user connects to the
switch and opens a web browser the switch automatically presents a login
page. The user then enters a username and password, which the switch
forwards to a RADIUS server for authentication. After authentication, the
switch grants access to the secured network. Other than a web browser, the
client needs no special supplicant software.

The guide is downloadable from the HP ProCurve website at http://www.hp.com/rnd/support/manuals/2650_6108.htm

Hope this helps.

Re: Change VLAN via SNMP

Back to his first Question...

Isn't there any possibility to change the port-membership via snmp?

We use the ProCurve Switch 2848 and need to set defined vlan configurations if needed.

If this would be possible via snmp, people with
less authorization could execute scripts for defined configurations.

We already used CLI-scripts but it is difficult
combine them with a html-gui.
