Changing VLAN gateways

I have a setup with a 4204vl doing the interVLAN routing. Recently we got 2 stacked E3800 switches (all configured with VLAN's and routing enabled with the necessary static routes) using different IP address on the same subnet for the same VLAN's for e.g. on the 4204vl, VLAN 4 is using 192.168.4.1/24 and on the E3800 stacked VLAN is using 192.168.4.2/24

The whole purpose is to move the role of the 4204vl to the E3800 stacked and completely turn off routing on the 4204vl for it to operate only as L2 switch. What Im planning to do is move one VLAN at a time. E.g. remove the IP address 192.168.4.1/24 of VLAN 4 on 4204vl and use it on VLAN 4 on the E3800 stacked.

What are the implication of these on that subnet ? Do I need to do a special thing on the switch or do I have to restart the client machines/printers for that to refresh its ARP ?

Need help and pointers

Re: Changing VLAN gateways

Any helpers out there ?

Anyway, this is how the setup looks right now with the HP4204vl on Building 2 doing the inter-vlan routing. This role has to be change over to the stacked E3800
