Cisco 2591 router

Can the AUX port on cisco 2501 router be connected to a cable modem. If so, please provide info.

No, it can't. The AUX port is a serial port. Cable modems usually only provide an ethernet port to attach to. Don't let the "modem" in "cable modem" make you think that a cable modem will provide a serial interface that is attachable to an AUX port.

If you want to access your Cisco router through the cable modem, use an ethernet interface on the router and assign appropriate IP/gateway settings. Then use telnet.
