Cisco Trunking(aka HP Tagging) between 2960G and Procurve 1700

Hi Sandeep.

Firstly are you trying to ping from the different subnet or the same subnet? If you pinging from different subnets you need a router or multilayer switch (L2/L3 support).

Also from the screenshot it does not look like your trunk link is enabled.

Please confirm and also ensure you using dot1q encapsulation between the switches on the trunk links.

Hi There,

I am aware of the requirement of the L3, its just that the user interface of 1700s tossed me off. I managed to trunk them.

The trunk port on HP's need to be member of all vlans. It worked fine.

Thanks,
Sandeep
