Cisco: snmp trap question

Hi!

For our CMM (WS-SVC-CMM Cat6k Voice Linecard) I wanted to configure the trap:

>snmp-server enable traps isdn chan-not-avail

to get a trap in case the D-channel of the connected PRIs go down. Unfortunately this is not working. Traps in general do work!

I read that this "chan-not-avail" is a feature for NAS devices like Cisco AS5300, Cisco AS5400. Does that mean it will not work on a CMM?

Thanks,

marco

Re: Cisco: snmp trap question

You have a better chance to find an answer on a cisco "ITRC like" forums. Go to www.cisco.com/go/netpro

Re: Cisco: snmp trap question

Hi

If there's no possibility of sending traps from CCM You can try logging messages to external system (syslog) and then convert them to SNMP traps. See if there are some messages logged in cisco device about problem with Your specific card.

Re: Cisco: snmp trap question

Hi Masmix!

Actually we decided not to use SNMP traps after all since they are not really realiable (UDP ...)

snmp-server ... syslog

is a possibility but we are going for MGCP monitoring directly on the CCM where the E1s are registered to.

Cheers,
