I have two switches:
J4819A with J4858A SX-LC 1000BaseSX mini-GBIC - Provides one full duplex Ethernet 1000Base SX port - For 850nm multi-mode fiber.
AND
J4121A with J4111A ProCurve Switch single port Gigabit-SX module
I have a 30m multimode patchcord with LC connector on one side and SC on the other.
I don't have link between this two modules. the LED remain turned off when I connect them, but if I put together the TX an RX connectors, I have link on the other side (the green led from the module is turned ON).
Both modules are enabled.
Thanks!

Re: Communication between 5308XL and 4000
Thanks a lot. That's the good solution. It works.

Re: Communication between 5308XL and 4000
...oh and all ports are in Auto and are 10/100BaseT. Sniffing the network sees no extraordinary broadcast or unicast.
(I enclosed the figure of the network as it looked before closing the mesh. Again, laptops are connected to node1a and node2a)
