Communication issues on some 1000Base-T ports on 9304m

Has anyone seen something like this?

I have an 8-port gigabit module (J4842A) in a 9304m switch. The switch firmware is the latest (08.0.01cT53). I have no issues with port 5 to 8 on that module.

On ports 1 to 4, when I first connect a gigabit NIC all is fine. After a while (time is random), the link still shows green, but there is no communications across the port.
The only way I can get the port back properly is to disable and then re-enable the port via the 9304 console.

Other things don't seem to work: I have hard-coded the speed on the NIC, changed various brand of NICs, changed the patch cables.

Any help will be appreciated.

If you have tried the same devices that work fine on ports 5-8, on ports 1-4, then I would say the module is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Alternatively, did you have the same problem with the previous software release?

Good point. I'll check with HP Support.

The problem also existed on older firmware.

Also, the link on those port seems to be more stable if I turn off "Checksum Offload" in the NIC advanced settings on the PC clients.
