Compaq SW5450 and 5422 password recovery

Hello,

I recently bought some used Compaq switches and now I need to know the admin password so I can see what's happening inside them.
The problem is that I don't know how to recover/erase the current configuration. I'm familiar with other Extreme switches but not as old as these are.

Any ideas?

If you are running firmware earlier than 2.18b, then I can probably help you. Post your email address and I'll send the information.

If you are running newer code, you will need to contact Extreme tech support. They will need to be able to dial into the switch (you'll need to attach a modem to the serial port) and they will login with the backdoor PW and reset the config for you (no cost to you).

I just got a SW5450 with 4.1.15 and need to do a password recovery. Theres a reset switch on the back but thats all it seems to do (restart).

Unfortunately, you will need to contact Extreme since you are running newer firmware. The Extreme technical contacts are listed in my previous post.
