Configuring the U.S. Robotics 83175001 Winmodem Voice on a Compaq Desk Pro 4000
I am trying to configure my modem on my Compaq Desk Pro 4000. I purchased this tower used and it came with a U.S. Robotics x2 Winmodem Voice. After contacting HP and talking to tech support specialist who advised me to open the tower and get the product code I was able to go to U.S. Robotics web site and findout that this is a OEM product manufactired by DELL. Product Code 83175001. I belive I have downloaded the correct driver from the U.S. Robotics website. Now I am trying to get the directions as to how to Install this information into my pc from the floppy disk. Can you please assist me?

Re: Configuring the U.S. Robotics 83175001 Winmodem Voice on a Compaq Desk Pro 4000
Hi Charles,
You need to go into control panel and then select the Add Hardware option.
When the screen loads press the next button to start a scan for hardware. Your Modem should appear in the list that is eventually shown. Choose the 'have disk' option and it will load the drivers from the floppy.
This is all from memory so I might have missed out a step or two....
Basically just keep pressing 'OK' and it will get there
