Dhcp & Vlan

Hi

I have three vlan like 6,7,8
vlan 6 getting ip address from dhcp server with range 192.168.151.1-255/24

vlan 7 getting ip address from dhcp server with range 192.168.152.2-255/24

i only know that happen with ip helper-adress command.but how different vlan getting different scope range from dhcp server

Any body have any idea so please share with me.

If you're using Windows 2000/2003 as your DHCP server, just create a new scope for those other ranges.

The ip helper-address inserts a GIADDR field into the packets so that the DHCP server knows which scope to give an address from.

Not all DHCP servers can do this.
