Error disable on Cisco 4500

Hi, we have connected a cisco 4500 to an HP 3400 using a 4 port trunk.
Everything work for some minutes, then the link goes down and if you input the command "show interface portchannel x" in C4500 you see that the interface is in err-disabled.

Could this be a speed/duplex mismatch?

Does is work with only a single link?

Are both device forced into link aggregation or are they negotiating via LACP? (Did you enable LACP on the Cisco?)
