Errors on Blocked Switch Port with STP enabled
Hi all,
I have some switches redundantly connected to each other and spanning tree enabled. I just wonder whether it is ok to see the number of Error Rx growing on ports that are blocked by the STP algorithm. If I understand correctly, Rx means receiving errors, so I am just wondering whether this might be the STP packets from other switch, and might be normal, or is there sth. wrong with my configuration, and this generally should not happen.
the switches are HP ProCurve Switch 3400cl-48G running firmware version: Created on release #M.08.74
kind regards
Sebastian

Re: Errors on Blocked Switch Port with STP enabled
This is a cosmetic bug, the newer firmware fixes this but introduces some different counter issues instead. (e.g. ports that receive tagged traffic on an untagged port will cause Drops RX).

Re: Errors on Blocked Switch Port with STP enabled
The bug with the newer firmware that I've mentioned above will be fixed in a future release.
