Fiber from 4000m to 4108gl

I seem to be having trouble getting a 4000m to talk to a 4108. The 4000m is using 4113 GB SX module, and the 4108 is using 4864 trensceiver module with a single GB SX tranceiver in it. I have done the following to troubleshoot:
- tried new tranceiver on 4000m
- tried moving the tranceiver to a new slot
- tried a new sc to sc to sc cable
- tried new tranceiver module in the 4108
- tried new module in the tranceiver module
- tried moving the slot on the 4108 for the sc module and for the whole tranceiver module
- tried replacing all parts with known goods
I do not get a link light on either side...

This is has got everyone at least once before...

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/networking/software/5990-6047.pdf (page 5&6)

With the 8000M the fibre ports defaulted to 1000-FDX. The 4100GL and all newer products default to Auto.

All you need to do is change this setting on one of the switches so that they match.

Yep, Matt is right. It got me, too. Easy to overlook.
