Firmware 14.XX for 5400/3500/6200/8200

Hi,

I was looking at the release notes for 14.33 firmware.

Well, it is only me, but I can┬┤t really see anything big that justifies the step from 13.xx to 14.xx
What is special about firmware 14.xx? Is there a noticable speed improvement, something else?

Hi,
i didn't read the release note, but i thought that with K.14.xx you can linkaggregate a server to two connected switches. with this you get fault tolerance and more speed.

Hello,

I think the new firmare is also for supporting the upcoming 3500 10/100 devices.

Talking about the "new" 3500.

HP, we are in year 2009, and you publish a 100Mbit/s switch??? (It seems, a cut down 3500yl)

Times are tough, makes a lot of sense. Also considering how many people actually 'need' Gigabit isn't really that high. It's nice to have definitely, but for most office workers, not necessary.

Matts correct,
Why pay for a gigabit switch for a remote branch office that uses thin clients / apps and pulls data over a low speed (2Mb -10Mb) WAN link?
