Firmware updatation from Older to New Version

Hi,

I have a HP Procurve Switch 4104 GL - J4887A.

My current Firmware is G.05.02.
This Firmware is very old.

I want to update the firmware for the switch to new version G.07.93.

Can i update the firmware directly to new one ???
or i have to update anyother firmware before updating to new version??

With the 4100 series you can update straight to the latest version.

With some other models, like the 5300, you do need to do an interim update if going from an especially old version.

The only recommendation with the 4100 is to make a backup copy of your startup-config as the latest firmware will make the config file incompatible if you do need to roll back to the earlier firmware (unlikely).
