Flow Controll YES/NO

In our network we got a mix of HP, 3Com and Hirschman (industrial rail) switches.
I've noticed that the Hirschman and most of the 3Com's have flow control enabled by default.
The HP's on the other hand have this option disabled. Also our core switches (3Com 3870) disable this feature by default.
What should I do, disable or enable on all ports for all switches. I'm leaning towards disable because the build in mechanisms of tcp/ip should take care of the flow of data.
What do you guys think?

Try this blog entry at this url: http://virtualthreads.blogspot.com/2006/02/beware-ethernet-flow-control.html it will allow you to make the decision based on your network needs. From what I know of our network I'm going to leave it off, that may be different for you but at least you will have the information you need to make the right choice for your network.
