Forced reboot after startup upload

Is not possible to upload a startup and then configure a "reload at.." ? (like Cisco)
I'm not very happy when a switch must reload after that...anyone knows the reason?
In a very old thread i red that probably was a bug...

Re: Forced reboot after startup upload

Looking at my 5406zl:

switch# reload ?
after - Warm reboot in a specified amount of time.
at - Warm reboot at a specified time; If the mm/dd/yy is left blank, the current day is assumed.

Re: Forced reboot after startup upload

Thank's Massimo, but my disappoint is for the impossibility of set a "reboot after" immediately after a startup-config upload.
At the moment, if you upload config into startup-config file, you are forced to reboot.

Re: Forced reboot after startup upload

If this is a ProVisionASIC switch (3500/5400/6200/6600/8200), a way to possibly do what you want would be to copy the config to one of the 3 config file storage areas, set the secondary flash to boot from that config file, set the secondary flash to load as default, then do a timed reload.

Re: Forced reboot after startup upload

Luckily for me, the 2900 is an ASIC switch too...I' didn't know the existence of the 3 storage areas, as we said: I have took 2 pigeons with one bean :-D
It would be nice if HP extends this feature into all the switches...

Re: Forced reboot after startup upload

I tried with 2900al and 6200yl to set the secondary boot from another file, like your suggestion, and the switch return me " System will be rebooted from secondary image. Do you want to continue [y/n] ? "

Is correct the statement: "boot system flash secondary config config-test"
(where "config-test" is another copy of the running creating to make this test)
Is the correct command to make what you have suggested?

Thank's

Re: Forced reboot after startup upload

Ops, i've found the right command :)

startup-default config/pri/sec ...

I think is not a feature of the ASIC switches only, i found that in the 2610 too.
Thank's a lot.
