GLC-LH-SM or GLC-LH-SMD Module

Which model of GLC-LH-SM or GLC-LH-SMD transceiver Module want to select ?

I am going to use fiber cable single mode 1310nm 9/125. Do I need Single Mode Duplex SMD(2 fiber count) or SM (Single Fiber)? I want to interconnect ws-c2960-24TC-L +2SFP with 1000Base-LH GLC-LH-SMD or GLC-LH-SM to ws-c3750G-12S +12SFP ports.

Re: GLC-LH-SM or GLC-LH-SMD Module

If you already have them, it doesn't matter.

If you haven't bought them yet, the LH-SM is cheaper, so go with that.

As far as I know, the "D" in SMD has nothing to do with Duplex. I thought the SMD was a ruggedized version. I may be wrong, although suggesting one is "duplex" doesn't make much sense, I've never heard of an SFP that doesn't do duplex.

Finally, are those two switches you just mentioned both Cisco switches?

Cisco switches are designed to enforce Cisco parts, so you should make sure you are using Cisco SFPs.
