GUI tool for enabling sFlow on Procurve Switches?

Since most procurve switches do not have config commands to enable sflow (major oversight!), is there a simple utility to enable to via SNMP? I've seen the thread about manually setting the mibs but we shouldn't have to convert ip addresses to hex or find the ifindex of an interface.

Hi Jason,

What sFlow collector do you plan on using? Most like ProCurve Manager Plus will automatically configure sFlow on the switches for you.

Otherwise the easiest thing that I know of to configure sFlow is the bash script 'sflowenable' - http://www.inmon.com/technology/sflowenable

Hiya,

We'll be using Observer 11. I've got the manual command lines written down and I guess its simple enough. I guess I'll have to run a small virtual linux machine to run those type of scripts?

Just noticed that in the latest K.11.41 software for the 3500/5400's, you can now set sFlow via the CLI.

Hurrah! I hope they filter it down to the 5300s and 2800s soon too.

I noted that 10.37 for 5300s has now got sflow monitoring commands and thought: If they've implemented that, why not the configure commands too.

Thanks.
