Gbe2c ICMP to default gateway

We have four Gbe2c modules in a C7000 enclosure that serve as our Front End networks for the blades. We were doing some configuration on the firewall/router and noticed that the FW logs had a ton of ICMP traffic hitting it from each of the 1GB modules on their management IP.

We let the OA's dish up IP's for the enclosure, and configured a few VLANs, but we can't figure out why these modules are sending ICMP traffic.

HP basically told us it's a configuration issue, but as far as we can tell this appears to be a function of the switch out of the box.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
