Gbe2c and BOOTP?

I cannot manage to have any of two new Gbe2c switches get IP from BOOTP, no matter how much resetting and power off/on I do.

I can see in the DHCP server log that there is no broadcast from the switch.

Had to give up and make a serial connection to the switches and configure IP manually.

Did anyone succeed in this?

Re: Gbe2c and BOOTP?

We have 12 of these, and neither have had any problems with that.

Are you sure your DHCP-server accepts bootp requests?

How are the ports configured on the switch that the gbe2's connect to?

Re: Gbe2c and BOOTP?

I found out that (in Windows server?) BOOTP only works if there is a reservation :-)

Normally I do use reservations for my Gbe2 switches, that is why I never saw this limitation.

Thanks,

Re: Gbe2c and BOOTP?

You may want to make note that BOOTP only works if there is a reservation.

Also, please make sure you are running the newly released 1.1 code for the GbE2c switch as this will also allow full intigration with the OA.
