HP 3500 question

Hi all,

Is it possible to combine 2 or more 3500 switches into one big logical switch?

Re: HP 3500 question

Hi,

indeed, stacking is available on 3500 switches:

Re: HP 3500 question

I stacked two 2910AL's but it was only used for management. If I stack two 3500 switches would it show up as one switch for example

- If I deploy a config change would it change both switches
- Can I use a single IP address to handle both switches
- Would the switch port show up as 1 - 96?

Thanks for the responses, I don't have the time to look through the PDF right now but if anybody has quick answers to my questions that would be great.

Re: HP 3500 question

Hi,

ProCurve "Stacking" is not what you want to achieve.
Basically it comes down to the point that both switches share the same IP address.
That's it.

If you need more than 48 ports, just run separate devices or choose a chassis based system (e.g. 5400zl).
