HP 4104GL - Monitoring

Hi

Using monitoring (port C16->C22), i must be able to see 2-way traffic..

However, monitoring port only see one-way traffic.. ie : computer -> C16 is monitored but A1,A2....C24 -> C16 in NOT monitored..

Is there a problem ??

Re: HP 4104GL - Monitoring

The 4100 hardware only supports monitor on ingress.

As a workaround, if you know the ports of the conversation you want to mirror, then you can monitor both the ingress and egress port to capture both sides of the conversation.

Re: HP 4104GL - Monitoring

Finally, I 've used an other trick by creating a bridge between a VLAN and others ports..

Monitoring port & port which is monitor are in the VLAN.

I configure HP monitoring to supervise the VLAN's port wich use with the bridge.

Now, i'm able to see 2-way traffic.

Thanks.
