HP 4104GL w/ multiple gl module
Hi there !
I got few trouble with a switch 4104gl (j4887a) who got 2x 10/100 tx gl module, and a gigabit module (j4864A
). Using only TCP/IP with all 100mbit client on it(FO on gigabit), it result on a slow network speed, we sniffed the network and we discovered there is a lot of TCP fast retransmission, TCP frozen window, long ACK, tcp transmission, tcp window size exceeded (of course I talk about tcp stack term). We have tried to force specific ports to 100mbit, without sucess. Tested cables, no sucess. We tried to use the other module ( A has fail, and B too).We transfer all the cable to another "cheap" switch, and no error into the tcp/ip stack...

Re: HP 4104GL w/ multiple gl module
Have you tried to upgrade the firmware to the last version?
I experienced the same problem some months ago, upgraded the firmware and unexpected traffic dissapeared.
Hope this helps!

Re: HP 4104GL w/ multiple gl module
according to release note of the firmware, it don't fix that kind of problem I have. This switch is brand new.
