HP 5300XL connection

Hi all,

Recently, I had connected up a 5300XL HP switch in an IT room with a 6500 series CISCO Catalyst Switch as its uplink. After connecting, I am not able to get a ping response from the desktop. While connected in the switch, I am able to ping to the outside subnets. This problems continues to drag on until half an hour later before it returns to normal by itself.

Please advice!

Hi,

Check ur network cable that is going to the router from ur system. Its a cable fault. Are you using 10MBPS cable from system to switch? Try using 100Mbps cable.

Hi,

Could you do a "show running-config" and post it here? It would help.
If a problem can be fixed, there's nothing to worry. If a problem can't be fixed, worrying ain't gonna help. Bottom line: don't worry.
