HP ProCurve 6200 vs. 3500 - Link State when Server Powered Off

I have a server that I connect to a 1000 TX port on a 3500 ProCurve switch and use IPMI to start/shutdown the server. When the server is powered off, the link state on the 3500 port connected to the server is 'link up'. This allows me to power up the server via IPMI without issue. Everything works fine with a 3500.

When I connect the same server to a 6200 ProCurve via a 1000 TX transceiver, I have found that the port conected to the server is 'link down' when the server is powered off via IPMI. Since the link is down, I can not use IPMI to power the server back up when connected to a 6200.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Is your transceiver on the 6200 is triple speed copper port ? (10/100/1000)
If it is only a 1000baseTX then i mean it is the explanation, in the WOL configurqtion try to chqnge this otpion.
