I have a problem with creating an alert for unreachable switch. I checked manuals and in all manuals is written, when switch became unavailable in Event tab :Unrachable devece - will appear.
But in my PCM v. 03.10.201 such kind of message does not appear. I use HP 2650 and HP 2810. When I switch off on of switches it's became red in Device\Events, but no message Device unreachable appear in events. All switches use PCM as trap receiver.
Any ideas? Thank you very much in advance.

Solutionin the left hand pane highlight the "Agent Groups" folder. In the tab "Events" you should find a PCM Event like this when a device is down:
Source: Discovery2-4
Origin: PCM
Severity: Informational
Description: 10.10.10.10: device is unreachable
This event can be used to fire an event bases alert.
Cheers,
Michael

Re: HP ProCurve manager policy based alert problem
Thank you for response. I'd make such kind of trigger but it isn't works. I create trigger with these settings.
For alerts:
has severity equal to informational
contains device is unreachable
For source:
Alert source as event source.
It seems that of all is correct but PCM doesn't produce any alerts when I switch off a switch. Is there any special setting I miss? Is there a way to point from which log PCM takes the event?

Re: HP ProCurve manager policy based alert problem
In your alert, ensure that you configure the "Source" tab as "alert sources as content of event.
Attach you can find a screenshot of the alert configuration.
Cheers,
Michael

Re: HP ProCurve manager policy based alert problem
Thanks a lot for assisting. I found that my problem is caused by misconfiguration of alert. From Monitored Source groups I choose by mistake All Devices instead Any source. Your screenshots helps me to find this.
So I correct alert configuration and all is ok.
Have a nice day!
