HP Procurve 5308 Hardwrae Failure alerts

Does anyone know what is required to detect hardware failure (in particular Modules) on a Procurve 5308.
Insight Manager seems to ba able to be told to identify Power supply and Fan failures but has no specification for Modules.

As far as I know a trap is sent when there is an error detected, so basically you need a trap receiver.
HP ProCurve Manager (http://www.hp.com/rnd/products/management/pcm/summary.htm) has an event browser that would show received traps.
There is a 30 day for the advanced features, but after that the free version still supports the events so you should be ok.
