HP Switch 2512 and its loud fan
Hello
I have here one HP 2512 and it works perfectly, but it has a terribile FAN that is very very loud.
Is it risky to disconnect the fan? Does the switch work even without a fan? It lights up the red light indicating that the fan is faulty, but will I cook something? Newer switches are fanless and It could be a fantastic thing to have the 2512 fanless!!!
I am going to put it in a very cold location with 18 ┬░C in summer and 12┬░ C in winter.

Re: HP Switch 2512 and its loud fan
Hello
I know that I will void the warranty, but "as long you own the products" means that If I buy used HP Gear, I dont have the lifetime warranty... right?

Re: HP Switch 2512 and its loud fan
The fan have an extra pin for RPM and thus the switch will notice when the fan is removed.
Dunno if it shuts down or just warn about it.
