Re: HP answer to a full redundant network with fully used uplinks
If that is the case - the 4100gl and 5300xl series products do that today seeing they are modular mini-chassis products at stackable pricing.

Shane.

Re: HP answer to a full redundant network with fully used uplinks
So your edge switch will have an two fiber uplinks to each core-switch (5300xl or 9300).
One uplink will be inactive because of spanning tree. With 3COM XRN for example you can have two separate coreswitches connected so they serve you uplink trough both fibers.
More and more customers want to fully use there expensive fiber.

Re: HP answer to a full redundant network with fully used uplinks
With the new free update coming for the 2600's and 2800's to support multi instance spanning tree in late Oct, this will do the same thing as 3com and Cisco, but using industry standards instead.
Regards,
Shane.

Re: HP answer to a full redundant network with fully used uplinks
So the uplink will be 2GB (4GB full duplex).
I don't really see how MSTP will do this job?
There also should be some kind of loadbalacing etc....

Re: HP answer to a full redundant network with fully used uplinks
Note: Both Core-switches are in different locations !!
What connections would you need between the coreswitches, bandwith etc....??
let's say we have about a maximum of 500 end users
