HP53xx

Is-it possible with 2 HP53XX to have the HSRP (Hot standby router protocol)functionnality .
In the event of a failure of connectivity toward one switch, the traffic is rerouted dynamically through the other switch

Re: HP53xx

You can look into what HP calls meshing and see if that would help.

If you want to run RIP or OSPF between the host and the router you can get the same effect.

Re: HP53xx

Hi.

Sorry, but meshing is not the solution here. Meshing is strictly layer2 technology.

The latest firmware includes XRRP, which is similar in functionality to the standard VRRP. It's not compatible, though, so you do need another 53XX for failover.
