HPE 1820 (J9984A)
Hello everyone,
I just have a question about HPE 1820 (J9984A) switches, I need to build a stack of 4 switches, does it work with this type of switches ?
if the answer is no, can I do it with 1920 switches ?
Thank you

Re: HPE 1820 (J9984A)
Hi @yfourar !
1820 series does not support stacking. The old 1920 series support stacking, but keep in mind that 1920S does not support it as 1920 and 1920S are very different devices - different chipset, different OS etc. But even on 1920 the stacking is only for cetralized management, basically you can access each stack member's web GUI from one page, that's all. It has nothing to do with IRF where you can have features like link-aggregations sharing ports between stack members (MLAG) etc.
For IRF I suggest you to consider 1950.

Please stop [*] of simply doing perfect Copy and Paste operation (without placing a reference): do your best by explaining/answering with your real knowledge and applying your line of reasoning, if any.
[*] also here or, another very good example of your behaviour can be found here: your answer is just a non referenced copy&paste of this 2010 reply (word by word) made by a very long time user Steven E. Protter in a completely different thread, again don't try to sell us somebody else's mule.
