How to find ports blocked by RSTP in PCM

Hi,

I would like to find ports in my network which have been blocked by spanning tree.

Is there some way to find those ports using PCM?

Re: How to find ports blocked by RSTP in PCM

You could look at the map view and you'd see the blocked link shown as a dotted line but I'm not sure how often that view is updated (also wouldn't help with an intra-switch link that had been blocked).

The map in PCM only shows blocked "switch to switch" links.

I would like to get a trap or a run an inventory on which shows all blocked ports.

Is this possible?

Hi Markus,

whats about running a policy with action "Config Manager: Group CLI" and run the command "sh spann | in Blocking". You will get an output like this:

< 10.10.14.254=""> Successful
< show="" spanning-tree="">
Trk1 | 20000 64 Blocking | 001635-b3ac40 2 Yes No
< 10.10.14.254=""> Successful
< 10.10.14.3=""> Successful
< show="" spanning-tree="">

< 10.10.14.3=""> Successful
< 10.10.17.253=""> Successful
< show="" spanning-tree="">

< 10.10.17.253=""> Successful

Re: How to find ports blocked by RSTP in PCM

Thanks for the info, but this does not seem to apply any of our procurve switches.

We have mostly 2510, 2626, 2650, 2824, 2848, 2810, 5300.

On which switches does this work?

Re: How to find ports blocked by RSTP in PCM

Indeed, this is working on K release (3500, 5400, 8200, 6200, 6600) and I don't think this is working on the lower platforms. In PCM I don't know any other features to get this info.

Cheers,

Michael
