How to trunk two 2848 switches
Hi, I am a newbee to HP switches and here.
Two 2848 switches are set to factory defaults.
I want to trunk 3 port of a 2848 switch to an other 2848 switch and configured both as follows.
2848(config)# trunk 45-47 trk1 trunk
I don't know why "Alert Log" shows "Excessive Broadcasts" warnings constantly.
I would appreciate the assistance.

Re: How to trunk two 2848 switches
I haven't set up trunks before, but here are some quick thoughts.
First, undo the non-working trunk command
2848(config)#no trunk 45-47 trk1 trunk
I'd probably try to use LACP, so on one of the switches you'd configure the ports like this:
2848(config)#interface 45-47 lacp active
Then check the log on both switches:
2848#show log lacp
Hopefully this helps!

Re: How to trunk two 2848 switches
After trunking, I reset both switches.
Now broadcast warnings are not happening.
According to the manual, reset is not necessary.
I don't know why.
Anyway, everything goes well.
Thanks, Chris Stave.
