How to upload and apply config script to procurve...

Hi,

We have a fairly simple startup config for our Procurves. I've made appropriate adjustments and want to upload the new startup script to a new 3500yl. Is there a way to do this, without manually adding all the VLANs, etc?

Is there no way to edit it like a text-editor? A vi or emacs equivalent?

If you are using the CLI, why not just copy the config from the working switch with copy&paste to notepad. there you change whatever is necesary and copy&paste it to the new switch.
works fine here. i am using teraterm as telnetclient.

yes pcm+ include text editor

you see previous 15 configurations on switch and view configuration differences on old and new config with text editor.

Hi

If you have a Fresh switch without any config, then simply Configure a DHCP server and add to the DHCP parameter to upload the config file from an FTP server.

There are many Free DHCP & FTP software that can be installed on a laptop, then connect any port on the switch to the laptop and run the DHCP & FTP services.

And add the Config file you want on the laptop and configure a DHCP parameter to upload this config file from the FTP.

This way is pretty useful in sites or places where you don't have PCM+.
